Paris, France
How to Get There
The fastest and cheapest way to get from London to Paris is the Eurostar. This is a train service that connects St. Pancreas Station in London with Gare du Nord in Paris. You can buy tickets at any time online at www.eurostar.com . It is less expensive the earlier you book, so make your reservations as soon as you are certain of the weekend you want to travel. Also anyone under the age of 26 is eligible for a youth ticket at a discounted price.
Once you arrive – At Gare du Nord the Metro is the French version of the tube or subway. Follow the signs and find a ticket machine, they will be in French but are easy to figure out.
* If approached while at the ticket booth by a person holding a postcard asking if you speak English – do not acknowledge them, or just say no, they are a gypsy
** After you buy your ticket you will have to navigate the Metro to whatever destination you desire. Visit http://www.paris.org/metro for more information, a map, and helpful hints in planning your stay.
Where to Stay
The easiest way to find pleasant accommodations at a discount price is to use www.lastminute.com, however the deals are only good if you use the site very close to your desired time of stay. If you are interested in booking early you can use www.priceline.com, www.hotels.com , or www.hostelworld.com.
We would recommend the Hotel Beaugrenelle Saint Charles. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It is directly across from a Metro station and only few blocks from the Eiffel Tower. There is a grocery store and pharmacy across the street as well.

Musee d’Orsay- This smaller museum houses original works by Monet, Manet and Van Gogh.
Notre Dame – The grand cathedral can be climbed but get there early if going on a weekend.
Eiffel Tower- A great way to see the entire city if climbed but be sure to check open and closing times.
Trocadero – Is a great overlook for pictures of the Eiffel Tower also many crepe stands and a long history.
Champs de Elysee – All the major retailers and the Arch de Triumph.
Jewish district or La Marais – Great place for falafel and vintage clothes, also the only shopping district open on Sundays.
